What about the project?

SATRAS focuses on creating educational tools and experiences that combine sustainable rural tourism, health literacy, and active ageing. The project supports seniors aged 55+ by offering accessible tourism activities that integrate learning about wellbeing, sustainable lifestyles, and environmental responsibility.

  • Increase the capacity of adult education centres to promote sustainable adventure tourism and environmental awareness in rural areas.
  • Combine tourism activities with educational content related to health literacy, preventology, and salutogenesis.
  • Develop accessible and safe tourism models that allow seniors, including those facing health or social barriers, to participate in travel experiences.
  • Equip adult educators and trainers with practical tools and methodologies to design sustainable tourism learning programmes for seniors.
